The Hassle of MRT's Stored Value Tickets and mCash Cards

Thursday, March 11, 2010

I don't really know what's the problem with the MRT system but recently, I have experienced the hassle of unavailability of those MRT Stored Value Tickets.

Going to school and to the office, in order to escape from the heavy traffic of EDSA, MRT is a good choice for transportation. But almost all of the metro pips are using the MRT for hassle-free transpo. The fact that they can't supply enough number of stored value tickets for their regular patrons is really causing me headaches.

I actually commented about this before in a blog post of a friend. Good thing, that time, I haven't experienced that stored value issue. Ayala Station is still capable of selling tickets. But this time, aside from Ayala, North Avenue and Cubao Stations are all incapable of selling the tickets.

To avoid the hassle of buying the single journey tickets, I tried using the mCash MRT card. These cards are also called the KitKat cards, AXS, E-Cash Wallet, G-Pass or whatever! Aside from the fact that you'll never had to wait on that long line to reload, you get to experience the same hassle-free ticketing system like that of the stored value's. But to be honest, it's not!

As I've said, I tried using that mCash card today. But all the tap 'thing' on the MRT stations in Cubao and North Avenue are not working well. I had to ask the assistance of the security guard to let me in after tapping the mCash on that non-working mCash reader.

In fairness, the system is very promising. Though it has been in the market for like two years (according to their website, the service became available in 2008), the service hasn't improve yet considering that the mCash card readers are not working properly.

For the meantime, while waiting for the stored values became available in all ticketing outlets of MRT, I'll be using the mCash card. Hopefully, it will not cause me to be late in my work and school schedules.

Playing Casino Roulette Games Online

I can still remember the first time that I get to enter into a casino place. With my blogger friends, we really did enjoy playing with all the games. Though it was just a trial game for that particular event invite was to showcase a new casino venue in Manila, the fact that all are free and we can spend the night feeling like we're millionaires having a night full of entertainment, is a total happiness for the most of us.

Back at home, of course you still want to enjoy the casino games even without spending much like that in the casino place. Most of my classmates and friends prefer Facebook applications of casino games wherein they could play along with their Facebook friends.

Also, there are a lot of online casino games out there that offer same fun and entertainment to those in the live casino places. That's where I found myself, and probably after this week (of course after examinations in school).

One of my favorite games is the live roulette online. I know there are a lot of applications and websites that offer this game but who would not do so if you feel like you're so glued to the game? I really like the fact that I can enjoy my lucky charms on this live roulette online.

I also tried the dublin casino roulette and as much as I enjoy playing the other roulette games, I also love this game.  It's so fun! I actually told my friends to try the games online than going to the casinos and spend the night there. At the comfort of your home with an internet connection, you can enjoy the same entertainment with casinos online.

I know, being addicted to these games are not really good that's why I still advice to control yourself and budget your time and money. This is just for entertainment. Don't make this your life.

Using Free Press Releases Services in Warning Netizens for Scam Sites

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

When you're out of budget but you really wanted to promote something to a number of people, I guess, free press release would be a great help.

I was able to talk to someone a while ago regarding this blog advertising that needs to be bombarded in Google Search. They never really pay for their pool of blogger writers. That's really unfair. They got our accounts canceled without any information on why they're doing it. It's really unfair.

With press releases services online, we could be able to reach other bloggers out there who are victims of this web site. Or perhaps, we could warn the bloggers for signing up with their site.

Press releases can be used in an effective and nice way specially in times like these where we really wanted to call the attention of that web site and it's members.

wi-tribe is Philippines's First 4G Broadband Service Provider

Monday, March 8, 2010

I was on my way to school via MRT when I saw a huge billboard with a huge 4G on it. I was able to get the word 'wi-tribe' and take note of it so that I could search for it online.

While browsing on it's web page, wi-tribe is the first broadband service in the country to offer 4G for internet connection. I came to know that wi-tribe is from Liberty Broadcasting Network. This time, it sounds familiar.

I was actually tweeting a representative from Liberty last January 2010 and she was saying that they're going to offer 4G broadband service to the country. I was really excited about that knowing that our local broadband service providers offer too slow internet connections. But since I deleted my Twitter account weeks after our conversation, I never heard any update about the launch of that 4G broadband service.

Good to know that I was able to catch that billboard in EDSA. Yes, wi-tribe is here to bring us the true 'fastest internet' that others claim on their advertisements. But, I haven't tried their service yet.

According to their website, they offer the same monthly subscription plan as to their competitors. For PhP998/month, you'll get to experience the 4G internet speed from wi-tribe. This is an introductory offer, as the site mentioned.

I assumed that the service is currently available to Metro Manila since there were no mentions of provincial coverage. But I still tried asking them. Once they replied on my request, I'll let you know by updating this blog.

UPDATE as of March 09, 2010: wi-tribe replied from my email regarding their service area. Since I am living in Marilao, Bulacan, obviously, it's not covered with their 4G service area. Here's their reply:

Dear Fjordan Allegro,

We received your inquiry regarding coverage in your specified area on March 8, 2010.

Initially, we have covered the major cities in Metro Manila. Your area in Loma de Gato Marilao Bulacan however is still a part of wi-tribe expansion plan. Rest assured that we will get in touch with you as

soon as we start servicing your location.

Sincerely,
wi-tribe ,)

How Essential are Press Releases to Writers

The importance of being valued and appreciated is like getting all the feedback and taking it constructively. The moment you get comments from other people and you were able to constructively use it to build yourself will help you grow in person. This is the same in writing. As more people recognize your articles, more people could give you their sentiments on your writing styles and other writing elements.

In getting traffic or readers, you have to rely with the power of the internet. Blogging is an essential tool. But it will be useless if no visitor is coming to your blog. This is the reason why free press release services come into the scene. As you submit your write ups, they bring your articles into internet searchers who would like to read your posts. As readers crawl for your articles online, they would definitely leave you comments on how you write that specific topic on your article. Sounds great, right? Now try it!

Smart introduces Unlimited Brand via Red Mobile

Smart recently advertised it's unlimited brand, the newly relaunched Red Mobile.

I know it's kind of weird that the 3G-enabled brand turned into an unlimited mobile service provider. It only shows that the 3G introduction of mobile services was not as effective as compared to Sun Cellular's marketing strategy of unlimited services.

Well, Smart now directly competes with Sun through Red Mobile by tapping the unlimited mobile market into something more economical and cheaper. As our local telcos continuously look for effective marketing strategies to reach our more customers, we definitely have to expect more innovations on our mobile technology.

Shopping Moments with Zai & Ejay

Thursday, March 4, 2010

This is the reason why I came in late for my quiz in Communications 3 class. After my work shift, I asked my officemate Ejay to accompany me in shopping for my attire for the ECE Graduation Ball tomorrow. Thanks for the salary I got from my work last cut-off, I was able to buy for my get up tomorrow night.

Zai, officemate and batchmate, incidentally joined us for that shopping galore in Makati. Well, we really had a great time bonding together. The 'bird brain' and 'star fish' thing is such a hit joke on us.

It was tiring, if I may say! I even went out of my mood in one instance since we can't find the attire that fits my taste. I am not a certified shop-a-holic because I easily get tired roaming in the mall. But with these two (ahem!) gorgeous ladies beside me, boredom certainly has no place to exist.

It was only after the shopping rush that Ejay realized that she had a camera with her. And so, I was not able to capture some 'fitting' moments. We took some photos when we had our food trip. I also asked Zai to help me with my Optical Fiber assignment for my Communications 3.

I'm looking forward for that ECE Graduation Ball tomorrow night. Whew! Thanks Ejay and Zai!
